E Bunny is a community outreach program dedicated to delivering Easter Baskets to the children of homeless and displaced families in Las Vegas.
At the core of this non profit is Barbara Kenig. Kenig started the program in 2001 after realizing how large the homeless children population was in Las Vegas. She originally started E Bunny in Detroit, Michigan and estimates 2000-3000 Easter Baskets are delivered to homeless children in Vegas each year. Barbara Kenig was awarded the Leif Erickson Hometown Hero award in 2013 and discusses her work in this interview.
According to their E Bunny page:
We will be passing out baskets on Saturday April 4th to disadvantaged children on the streets of LV, and will be at UMC Children’s Hospital on Sunday! Thanks to everyone for making
this Easter special for our children! When the kids ask us where the baskets come from, we tell them from people who care about them!E Bunny accepts basket donations throughout the year and operates in partnership with community programs like the Las Vegas Rescue Mission, Opportunity Village and Casa de Luz.
